The Clearfield HS AFJROTC Marksmanship team topped the stand at the state marksmanship championship. In the match, Clearfield squeezed past runner up Ogden HS and third place team Taylorsville to win its third consecutive state Air Rifle championship.
The Clearfield team was led by its team captain Robert Estrada, who earned the individual state championship. Estrada was the gold medalist in two of the three shooting positions, (prone and standing). Eric Koenig was fourth and Jason Hamby finished fifth. Also competing on the team was Ian Gillette.
