Tom Wingert, CHS Applied Skills Math Teacher & Assistant Softball Coach

Mr. Wingert has been in Education for 21 years. He received his degrees from Wayne State College in Nebraska and Morningside College in Iowa. Ten of those years, he taught Physical Education in elementary and seven years in high school. He also taught four years in Resource. Mr. Wingert has had coaching experience in Football, Baseball, Basketball Softball and Golf. Highlights in his life are teaching in six different states and two different countries: Iowa, Nebraska, Florida, Maryland, Arizona and Utah, as well as in England and Africa.

He will be teaching Applied Skills Math and also act as an Assistant Coach in Girl’s Softball here at Clearfield High School. Through his travels and teaching opportunities, he has come to realize one thing about kids – no matter how different, they all have one thing in common -- they want to feel accepted as someone who matters in their school. His daily goal is to find something to say or do that will make a kid feel special and good about themselves.

His favorite things to do are to take long or short motorcycle rides, golfing hiking…just hangin’ with his wife, two kid’s two dogs, and two cats.
